　　Bi Hongsheng, archiater and professor. He has been engaged in ophthalmology clinic, scientific research and teaching for years. Of noble professional ethics and strong enterprising spirit, he shows sincere concern to patients and keeps inproving in technology. He is diligent in research, practice and exploration, skillfully masters domestic and International technology situation and development of ophthalmology. 24 new technologies in ophthalmology have been introduced and developed, which have filled 28 scientific and technological vacancies of the railway system, 4 of the Province and 3 of China. Over 6,000 blind people and more than 10,000 myopia sufferers from the US, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and 30 provinces and cities of China have revocered, which has achieved great social benefits and economic benefits (accumulated to 50 million yuan since 1996), fully recognized by organizations of all levels and all circles of the society. The hospital was honored as "brightness emissary" by leaders of the Ministry and the sufferers. Achievements of the hospital have been approved as "domestic initiate", "domestic leading", "reaching International level" and won scientific and technological progress prize of the Ministry, the province and the bureau. Bi Hongsheng went twice to Washington University and Louis Wale University of America for visits and academic exchanges, made outstanding achievements and won reputation for the railway health system.
　　Under his leadership, our hospital established Jinan Myopia Correction Center in 1993, the only center approved by local health bureau in China. The first modern joint-venture ophthalmology hospital in China approved by the Health Ministry was founded in 1996. In 1998, Ophthalmology Institute of Jinan Railway Bureau was constructed and appraised as "key specilaty of the Railway Ministry" and "eye disease prevention technology center of the railway system" the same year. Ophthalmology academic meetings and International ophthalmology new technology popularization classes were successively held for 6 times approved by China Railway Academy, which has made outstanding contributions to ophthalmology causes of the railway system. He was elected and awarded as director committeeman of ophthalmology group of China Railway Academy,clinic visiting professor of Louis Wale University, International member of AAO, member of American Cataract & Refraction Academy, vice director committeeman of Shandong ophthalmology committee of China Medical Academy, youth expert of outstanding contributions of the Railway Ministry, the ten outstanding youth of Shandong Province, committeeman of China Youth Federation, goverment allowance gainer of the State Department and talent of the fifith Zhan Tianyou railway science and technology prize etc.
